Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-22 (demo copy)
Wanderstory exists to help you keep private memories, so we built it with privacy as a default, not an afterthought. This page explains what we collect, why, and what stays entirely under your control.
What we store
Your account (name, email, profile preferences), the trips and memories you create, uploaded media and its metadata (never raw EXIF GPS data on public shares — see below), and records needed to operate sharing, collaboration, and comments features you choose to use.
What we don't do
- We never sell your data or your journal content to third parties.
- Analytics events never include journal text, photos, or place names — see our analytics implementation.
- AI features are off by default and never receive your content unless you explicitly opt in per action.
- Private media is never served from a public, guessable URL.
Your controls
Every trip defaults to Private. You choose when and how to share it, can revoke share links instantly, and can export or permanently delete your account data at any time from Settings.
EXIF metadata
Uploaded photos may contain embedded location and device metadata. You can strip this metadata before sharing publicly from the media editor — publicly shared images have GPS EXIF data removed automatically.
